Crossrail International was pleased to support Durham University and Heriot-Watt University during last week’s InfraLeaders mission – a productive week of knowledge exchange with over 120 delegates from across Brazil’s public and private infrastructure sectors.
Our colleagues Simon Bennett FCILT AMICE, Mike de Silva, and Achila Mazini were on the ground throughout the week, supporting cross-cultural engagement and delivering presentations on the delivery of sustainable and innovative infrastructure projects in the UK.

The week created a valuable space for a UK-Brazil exchange of ideas, challenges, and approaches, reinforcing the importance of international collaboration in driving inclusive and forward-thinking infrastructure.
The week concluded with a closing session led by Brazil’s Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, who spoke about Brazil’s infrastructure priorities and the opportunities for future cooperation.
Thank you to FESPSP – Fundação Escola de Sociologia e Politica de São Paulo, B3, Infra Women Brazil, Banco do Brasil, Programa de Parcerias de Investimentos da Casa Civil da Presidência da República, Durham University and Heriot-Watt University for organising and hosting a well-executed and impactful programme. We were pleased to contribute and look forward to seeing the ideas and connections formed this week develop further.
