Crossrail International has been selected by NTA Metropolitan Mass Transit System Ltd., the Israeli government company responsible for the development of Israel’s largest ever infrastructure project, to provide professional consulting services for a planned US$45 billion, three-line underground metro network in the metropolitan area of Tel Aviv. The new metro system will add to the light rail transit (LRT) system currently being constructed in Tel Aviv and adjacent cities.
The Tel Aviv Metro network will comprise three lines that will serve the city’s metropolitan area with the goal of “creating an advanced, connected and synchronized public transportation infrastructure, which will bring significant relief in getting from Gush Dan cities to the largest employment centres in the country”. The megaproject will bring significant additional social, environmental and economic benefits to Israel’s financial and technological hub. The project is being promoted and planned by NTA with the Ministries of Transport and Finance acting as the megaproject’s sponsors.
Crossrail International will support the NTA during the project’s crucial development stage by drawing on international good practice and lessons learned to help realise a significant step change in public transport for the city, whilst also focusing on providing value for money and a positive legacy.

NTA is drawing on Crossrail International’s experience and expertise in areas such as megaproject governance structures, client organisational design and maturity modelling, strategic procurement, global market capacity and mobilisation, supply chain management, land value capture, and operations and maintenance to assist the NTA in setting clear and effective strategies that will drive the project’s ultimate success.
