Technical advisory services for largest subways investment in Canada’s history

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) is responsible for delivering public infrastructure improvements for the Province of Ontario, Canada. Working in conjunction with multiple stakeholders in Toronto, including the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), Metrolinx, and the Ministry of Transportation, IO is developing a plan to help deliver new subway infrastructure to alleviate congestion, improve mobility and support growth within the City of Toronto. 

Crossrail International (CI) is working in association with global consulting engineers, TYPSA SA and UK specialist transport advisers Direx Solutions to provide technical advisory services relating to the planning and procurement of the city’s new subway extensions.

A critical component of the services involves reviewing, evaluating and challenging current information and approaches to foster greater efficiency, innovation and improvements to project delivery and subsequent outcomes by bring international experience, benchmarking and lessons learned to stakeholders.

Working within a highly experienced, integrated team, CI is providing a range of expert advice including business case review, governance and funding, commercial and procurement strategies, transport oriented development, skills and training, and public affairs. The Toronto-area transit expansion plan represents the largest investment in new subways in Canada’s history.
