Rob Paris BSc (Hons) MSc MCIWEM MIES is an expert in sustainability and environmental management with 29 years of consulting and construction industry experience.

As Head of Sustainability & Consents at Crossrail, Rob is responsible for the production of Crossrail’s sustainability strategy and coordination of its delivery and performance. He also manages planning, highways and environmental consents, Crossrail’s corporate environment team, and assures compliance with the programme’s Environmental Minimum Requirements (EMR).

Rob joined Crossrail in 2003 as part of the team responsible for delivering the Environmental Statement (ES) that was deposited along with the Crossrail Bill to Parliament in 2005. During the passage of the Bill through the parliamentary process, he became Environment Manager and then Head of Planning, Environment & Traffic. Rob was also involved in negotiating key elements of the Crossrail Environmental Minimum Requirements (EMR).

Prior to joining Crossrail, Rob spent 13 years as a Sustainability and Environmental Consultant for Arup. During this time, he spent five years in Brisbane, Australia, where he helped to establish an environmental consulting team and its later transition to providing sustainability consulting services.

Rob holds a BSc (Hons) in Zoology and an MSc in Pollution and Environmental Control. He is a Member of the Chartered Institution of Water & Environmental Management, a Member of the Institution of Environmental Sciences, and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers Sustainability Leadership Team.
