Ian Lindsay BA (Hons) FCIH MRICS is a chartered surveyor and urban regeneration specialist with 30 years of client-side experience in strategic land assembly and delivering complex, mixed-use property development and land value capture solutions in the commercial and public buildings sectors.
As Land and Property Director at Crossrail, he delivered one of the most complex compulsory purchase programmes ever undertaken in the UK, managed the acquired estate and put in place the design, planning and commercial contracts to capture £500 million of value via 3.5 million square feet of Over-Site Development.
Prior to joining Crossrail, Ian was Head of Major Developments at Network Rail where he worked closely with Sellar Property to enable delivery of The Shard, the UK’s tallest building, alongside the transformation of London Bridge station. Ian’s extensive project portfolio also includes the redevelopment of London’s Cannon Street station and Birmingham’s New Street station where he secured John Lewis Partnership as anchor tenants in the new Grand Central shopping centre.
Earlier in his career, Ian established the Kent Thameside regeneration agency to deliver 30,000 new homes and 50,000 new jobs in the North Kent Thames Gateway, centred on Ebbsfleet International station.
Ian holds a first class BA (Hons) degree in History from the University of Manchester. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
