CALGARY, EDMONTON AND VANCOUVER

Crossrail International expert adviser Ian Lindsay was a guest presenter and panellist at a series of transit-oriented development conferences held recently in Western Canada.

Titled Sharing the UK Experience: Transit-Oriented Development and Community Revitalisation, the conferences were organised by the Department of International Trade and the High Commission of Canada in the UK and took place over a three-day period in early October 2019 in the cities of Calgary, Alberta; Edmonton, Alberta; and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Attendees included local stakeholders and a mix of UK public and private sector organisations. Participants sharing their experiences during the panel discussions included representatives from Crossrail International, Steer, Broadway Malyan, and Weston Williamson + Partners.

Transit-Oriented Development, known as TOD, is an exciting fast growing trend in creating vibrant, liveable, sustainable communities by optimising the use of land and maximising access to public transport.

Thank you to the Department for International Trade (DIT) for organising these conferences.
